Description
The suspension lamp 0024 Fontana Arte is composed from a succession of transparent tempered glass disks, with a central cylindrical shade in sand-blasted glass and brass chromed structure signed by the architect Giò Ponti, who has a central role in the history of the firm. The same concept of succession of glass disks supported by a metal central soul of 0024 Fontana Arte structure will be repeated one year later with the famous low table 1932. In the design as in the architecture, Ponti explore fully the theme of the lightness making the metal the aerial armour of crystal architectures. He writes: "in the nature the crystal represents the finite against the indefinite", as in the lamp 0024 Fontana Arte, where the succession of glass plates composes the image of a sphere, an idea of pure form, assembled on on a central bright cylinder 2×36W (FL) 2G11 - electronic feeder dimmerabile
